Why the Byron Bay Bluesfest?
We're not going to beat around the bush: we're here to tell you straight up that Byron Bay Bluesfest is an event you don't want to skip. The line-up is always legendary. We're talking Neil Young, Patti Smith, Santana kind of legendary.
So in case the name had you fooled, the Bluesfest is not just a bunch of old guys weeping over their guitars about their women walking out on them (though we'd be hoping for at least a few of those, too). One minute you'll be rocking out to the '70s sounds of Jethro Tull, the next you'll be praising the Lord your feet are unshackled so you can dance to Mary J Blige. Yep, there's five solid days of acts of that caliber.
What Makes Byron Bay Bluesfest Special?
Other than the killer line-up, Byron Bay Bluesfest is kind of a huge, incredible getaway. It takes place at the sprawling 120 hectare Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, just north of Byron Bay in New South Wales, Australia. On the grounds are bars, over 100 food and market stalls, undercover food courts, beer gardens, and even children's entertainment to keep the whole thing family-friendly.
Serious crowds of people flock to the festival each year because it's just that good. Really, 100,000 people can't be wrong.
If you don't click through and secure your ticket now, well... Let's just say, we guess that's why they call it the blues.
