Why The Cartier Queen's Cup Polo Final?
For three weeks in May and June every year, a swarm of green Range Rovers, picnic rugs and daughters named Minty and Olivia descend upon Egham in Surrey.
But more importantly, The Guards Polo Club will play host to one of the world's leading polo tournaments - The Cartier Queen’s Cup. Here you can see the sport's greatest players alongside Her Majesty The Queen.
What makes the event so royally regal?
Well, Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II has attended and presented the winning cup since 1960, meaning you can mingle with the tweed-clad elite, luncheon on crustless cucumber sandwiches, shout “Huzzah” as men on horses hit balls with sticks and ponder life’s unanswerable question - why the horses don’t drown when they play water polo.
Joking aside, this prestigious, royal event is polo at its very best. Grandstand seating and all-day hospitality packages are available to non-members for finals day because, here at Life of Riley, your wish is our command, my liege.
