Why The Dubai World Cup?

With the first prize of $10 million, the Dubai World Cup is the richest horse race in the world. And, while you aren’t likely to win it yourself (unless you happen to be a world-class jockey.... or a particularly fast horse), you can still enjoy the excitement of others battling for a total prize pool of $35 million!

Taking place at the state-of-the-art Meydan Racecourse, Dubai (yeah, the one with the Arabian Crescent-shaped grandstand that measures a mile in length and accommodates 60,000 fans… that one), the Dubai World Cup is probably the most exciting event on the global racing calendar.

Hey, if something can make Ascot look boring, you know it must be pretty good!

What makes the Dubai World Cup a world-beater?

World Cup Day is undoubtedly the biggest sporting and social event in the Gulf, taking place on the final weekend in March. It’s your chance to spend a few days mingling with the crème de la crème of the Gulf as well as rubbing shoulders with the biggest names in horse racing. Just imagine - drinks with the likes of  Frankie Dettori, Jim Crowley and Pat Cosgrave, just to name-drop a few.

While there you can ask them some for some race tips (they probably have a good idea of what makes a winner…), then have a flutter – you may well be able to enjoy a day that pays for itself!

This all ties into some jaw-dropping luxury packages, including stays in some of the best hotels in Dubai, gourmet food and drink, and hospitality tickets (or should that be ‘horse-pitality’)  to the Dubai World Cup.

In short:

  • The biggest sporting and social event in the Gulf
  • 9 races with $35 million in prizes
  • Insane luxury in an insanely luxury country
  • Rub shoulders with racing legends like Frankie Dettori!
