Spend the Night in an Off-Grid Adobe Desert Dome

Picking an AirBnB over a traditional hotel is a sensible choice for experiential travellers wanting something different. Forget the copy-and-paste chain hotels and, instead, stay the night somewhere that provides a true sense of place. Somewhere way different. Somewhere waaaaaay out west!

When it comes to the desert of Far West Texas, there really is no better sense of place giver than this exclusive Off-Grid Adobe Desert Dome.

How's it different? Think of it like pitching a tent in the desert – but one that is spacious, comfortable, weather-proof and private (…so, nothing like a tent then).

Off Grid Adobe Desert Dome

What’s an Off-Grid Adobe Desert Dome have My Tent doesn’t?

This remote off-grid adobe dome can be found about 25 minutes from the entrance to Big Bend National Park and the same distance from historic Terlingua Ghost Town. The "cob" is powered by solar power and big enough to sleep three people (although with one double bed, it’s probably wise to bring just two) Linens, pillows, and a blanket and a duvet in colder months are provided.

So, how about the nights? They offer everything you need to enjoy a unique night under the stars; tranquility, isolation, peace, quiet and romance! That said, you may hear the howls of coyote/dog hybrids far off in the distance, don't worry - it only adds to the feeling of seclusion and romance!

Located close to Big Bend National Park, this Off-Grid Adobe Desert Dome is the perfect base for desert exploration, whether you’re hiking, visiting towns or simply honing your best 'Man with No Name' impression, a la Clint Eastwood in just about every Spaghetti Western.

Even though it’s off-grid, the dome is completely solar-panel powered and, because you are in the middle of the desert, you won’t be short of a few rays to power everything from the solar shower bag to the refrigerator… heck, the owner even throws in his dog/coyote hybrid for the true desert experience!
