Why Rejuvenate at Palace Gokbel?

Do you ever yearn for somewhere to slow down, breathe, rest re-energise? Well, how about a six-night stay at Palace Gokbel; a Turkish yoga retreat that looks like a little slice of heaven?

This delightful, Indian-influenced Palace overlooks Turtle Beach, an idyllic lake and the Dalyan Delta mountain ranges and Whale Island. The architecture of Palace Gökbel is an Eastern fusion, the arches took influence from India, while the interior has classical Ottoman styling. Palace Gokbel sits beautifully in an ancient Olive Grove, surrounded by a Pine Forest - making it the ideal spot to let your worries melt away.

Gently awoken by shafts of sunlight in your beautifully decorated, luxury room, you'll dine on a scrumptious traditional Turkish breakfast, perform yoga, pilates and sun salutations on the roof terrace before chilling by the pool with a glass of wine. Alternatively, you could take a dip in the 28 metre natural, chemical free rock pool, which uses mountain water and local materials to echo the landscape.

And that’s all before midday!

So, What Happens after Midday at Palace Gokbel?

The afternoons are yours to do with as you please - you can snooze in a hammock by the pool, partake in an artistic interest like sketching, painting and writing or mosey down to turtle beach; a protected area, where the Carretta turtles come to lay their eggs.

The more adventurous can travel to nearby Dalyan town, which is blessed with Lycian rock tombs, Lake Koycegiz, the ancient ruins of Caunos, mud baths and natural sulphur springs. On Saturdays, there’s a traditional Turkish bazaar with delicious foods and artisanal jewellery.

Late afternoons and evenings see more yoga and breathing exercises before dinner in The Olive Garden Restaurant - most likely barbecued fresh fish, seasonal vegetables and salad.

I think I’m in love with this place already. Click the link and you may fall in love, too!
