Why Venture on Wilderness Photography Scotland?

There are many sides to Bonnie Scotland. Venture to The Highlands on this Wilderness Photography Scotland tour and deep-fried Mars Bars, second-rate football, red-faced whiskey drinkers and Greggs the bakers’ butter-rich sausage rolls are soon replaced by spectacular mountain scenery, lush pine forests and eagles, whales and dolphins. That’s the Scotland we want you to see...

This is your chance to spend a week developing your photography skills with one of the UK's leading landscape photographers, Colin Prior. You’ll enjoy the finest Scottish photographic locations from our private boat, breathe the cool mountain air and sample fresh local cuisine in the award winning restaurant based right by your accommodation.

Why's Colin's Photography Trip the Bonniest?

Well, your trip will include 7 nights accommodation in a wilderness lodge in Knoydart, all meals and boat transfers (starting and finishing in Mallaig) meaning you’ll get to visit Loch Nevis and Loch Hourn as well as the Small Isles archipelago and explore the nearby islands of Skye, Rum, Eigg, Muck and Canna.

Starting and ending in Mallaig, a short boat journey will take you to Doune on the tip of the Knoydart Peninsula. You'll also board the Mary Doune and head south-west to the island of Muck and anchor in a secluded bay where coral sands are backed by rocky terraces on which a large colony of common seals resides. You'll photograph oystercatchers, ringed plover, dunlin and common gulls defending their territories from unwelcome visitors!

You'll also take in Rum’s rugged coastline, the remains of a pre-crofting township in Loch Eishort, and Beinn Sgritheall – one of the steepest mountains in Scotland – and much, much more!

In Scotland’s “last true wilderness” you’ll visit nature reserves, capture unbelievable landscapes and photograph the stars with no light pollution, see red deer upon the heath and all the while rely on Colin’s expert tuition and guidance to improve your camera skills.
